Privacy policy
Sympol is free to use. We collect only what we need to run a safe social dating app for people in Bangladesh, and we never sell your personal data.
What we collect
- Account details: email address and a securely hashed password.
- Verification details: Bangladeshi mobile number and date of birth. These are private and never shown to other people.
- Profile: username, display name, photo, bio, gender, who you’d like to meet, intention, city and interests.
- Activity: connection requests, messages, Blind Date sessions, blocks and reports.
What other people can see
Your public profile shows your username, display name, photo, bio, gender, who you’d like to meet, intention and interests. Your age and city are shown only if you allow it in Settings. Your email, phone number, birth date and private preferences are never public. In Blind Date your profile is hidden until both people agree to reveal.
How we use your data
- To run your account, show your profile and deliver your messages.
- To match you in Blind Date using the preferences you choose.
- To keep Sympol safe: enforcing age and location rules, rate limits, blocks, reports and bans.
There are no ads, no tracking pixels and no paid promotion of profiles.
Moderation
When a conversation is reported, Sympol moderators can read that conversation to review it, and can see the real accounts behind Blind Date aliases. When an account is banned, its phone number is kept to prevent it from signing up again.
Storage and security
Data is stored with Supabase. Access is restricted with row-level security so people can only read what they are allowed to. Connections are encrypted in transit.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and privacy settings at any time.
- Hide yourself from Discover, hide your age or city, and choose who can message you.
- Delete your account from Settings. This permanently removes your profile, photo, conversations and connections.
